Being outside is the perfect place for kids to be kids with the freedom to shout, jump, run, hop or skip. In fact, by taking your children outdoors and supporting their play, you can help their development.

We celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a Royal theme. We made crowns, dressed up as the queen, found pictures of her on money and stamps. She also surprised us with a visit to the snack bar and joined us for a cucumber sandwich!

REMINDER: Please can all parents please bring in sun cream and a sun hat for their child. Please label them with your child’s name.

Lyneham will be focusing on Friendship this month and what it means to be friendly and kind to each other. The children will be taking part in small group activities, sharing stories and being rewarded on the sun shine tree for being kind and friendly.

Children loved exploring the garden and found a family of snails. We spent a long time looking at them and talking about how snails move.

We made the most of the mild weather and spent lots of time outside using the large outdoor area for football, hopscotch, snakes and ladders and also took out the scooters. Building in the sunshine was great fun followed by reading and creating pictures. The children then made some lovely Easter bonnets and had fun playing with table top games.
