The Coat Flip Trick!

At Lyneham during November, we have been developing and promoting the children’s independence skills and helping them to find and put on their own coats. We have introduced the flip trick, as it is a great way for children to work out how to put on their coat by themselves.

The Flip trick works by encouraging the children to lay their coat down in front of them on the floor, with the hood by their feet. Then they place their arms into the arm holes and flip the coat up over their head! We have had brilliant results and lots of children have received certificates for putting their coats on and some have even gone on to master zips and buttons. It is proving very successful and we hope parents will continue with the good work at home
