Nursery Manager – Calne, Wiltshire

Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Annual performance bonus + up to £1,000 joining bonus

Are you an experienced Nursery Manager looking for the opportunity to lead a successful nursery where you'll be trusted, supported and genuinely valued? Or perhaps you're an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step in your career.

Our Good Ofsted-rated nursery has built a strong reputation with local families and is home to a team of around 20 colleagues.  As Nursery Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, developing your team, building strong relationships with families and ensuring children receive the very best care and early years education.

Our Calne nursery is based in a welcoming market-town community, with strong local links and within easy reach of Chippenham, Melksham, and Devizes.

About the Role:

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, supporting and developing your team.
• Maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and statutory compliance.
• Building strong relationships with parents and carers.
• Supporting occupancy through excellent customer experience and welcoming show rounds.
• Continuing to develop the nursery and maintain high standards across the setting.

Full-time (40 hours per week), although reduced hours or a job share will be considered for the right candidate.

You will be fully supported by an Area Manager and a strong team, while also having the freedom to shape the setting in line with your vision for outstanding care and education.

You’ll need:

• A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• A sound knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and statutory requirements.
• Experience of leading and developing a team.
• Good organisational skills and high professional standards.
• A calm, approachable leadership style with the confidence to make decisions when needed.

 Job description: Qualified Early Years Practitioners 

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery is looking for experienced Early Years Practitioners, Room Leaders and people who feel ready to take the next step in their career.

We have opportunities across our nursery settings in Calne, Lyneham and Fynamore for people who care about doing the job well, enjoy being part of a strong team and would like the chance to grow into more senior responsibilities.

You might already be a Room Leader looking for a fresh start. You might be an experienced Level 3 practitioner being the person others turn to in the room (even though you have never had the title). Or, you might know you are ready for more responsibility but need the right support and opportunity to take that next step. We are interested in all three.

At Sunny Days, we want our senior people to do more than keep a room running. We want them to understand what good early years practice looks like, support and develop the people around them, build strong relationships with families and take pride in the standards of their nursery.

For the right person, we provide a clear development route, regular support from experienced leaders, and coaching and leadership development with an external early year’s coach who already works closely with our team.  This is something we invest in because we want people to feel supported as they grow into leadership, rather than being given a new title and expected to work everything out for themselves.

 Job description: Early Years Apprentice

Sunny Days Children’s Nursery is a unique and independent day nursery seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to join our busy team based in our nursery in Lyneham, Wiltshire. 
 

As a supervised Apprentice you will:

• Be assigned a Mentor and Senior Member of our team to support you during your Apprenticeship
• Work/Study towards NVQ Level 2 or 3 whilst gaining valuable hands-on practical experience in the workplace (up to two years)
• Be part of an enthusiastic and motivated team
• Provide high quality childcare and learning opportunities to the children in our care
• Play a vital role in our nursery family.

Shifts will vary between 7.30am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

We offer a competitive salary with up to 28 days holiday per annum.
